Meet Dentra, the AI platform that runs the admin of a dental clinic

Dentists treat the patient, and Dentra writes the record, runs reception and handles follow-ups

From left: Kristina Andreu (CEO), Hadi Alsehnawi (COO) and Nirmal Hirani (CTO).

The problem

A dentist's work doesn't end when the patient leaves the chair. The visit has to be written up in the patient record, aftercare instructions sent, bookings and payments followed up, and the clinic has to show the regulator that every routine is followed.

Each of these tasks lives in a separate system, and the hours add up.

What Dentra does

Dentra brings quality management, clinical documentation, patient communication, reception and administration into one place. It drafts clinical notes from the appointment, keeps the whole team working from the same routines, and helps the clinic adapt as new requirements come in.

Clinics save up to 10 hours of administration per dentist per week. The dentist reviews and signs. Dentra does the typing.

Built from the inside

Dentra is becoming a core part of how the team's own clinic operates, and the long-term plan is to acquire and operate more clinics with Dentra at the centre.

That gives them a direct feedback loop: they build, test and improve Dentra around the challenges they face every day.

How it started

The real turning point was the new IVO permit requirement in early 2026. We urgently need better systems to manage quality, compliance and daily operations.

The Dentra founding team. IVO is the Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate.

Why this team

CTO Nirmal Hirani has a background in financial mathematics and AI engineering, and is also clinic director at a dental clinic, giving the team direct insight into where time and resources are lost.

CEO Kristina Andreu brings a strong quantitative background in economics and mathematics, with the commercial and strategic perspective to scale both Dentra and the clinic model.

COO Hadi Alsehnawi comes from safety-critical aerospace engineering, where systems cannot afford to fail.

Why Sting

The ambition is bigger than another dental software tool. Dentra is building the operating infrastructure they would want across every clinic they run.

The next step is scaling Dentra from the team's own clinic into a platform for many clinics. Through Sting, they want to sharpen their go-to-market, build the right industry partnerships and connect with investors and operators who can help them scale faster.

Dentra is one of 21 startups in Sting Core Fall 2026. Meet the rest of the cohort in Meet the 21 startups joining Sting this autumn.
