Sweden’s Energy Future Takes the Stage as Sting Climate Race Returns
Sting officially launched the second edition of Sting Climate Race on Wednesday, 26th November, bringing together ten high-potential climate tech startups from across Sweden. Eight of the selected companies are new to Sting, and nine have a direct connection to the energy sector, marking the most energy-focused cohort the program has seen.

Sting Climate Race supports early-stage companies developing solutions that accelerate the transition toward a resilient, low-carbon society. The program is designed to fast-track startups’ investor readiness and supercharge their fundraise, helping them secure their next round - faster and smarter. Sting Climate Race is co-financed by the EU and the Swedish Energy Agency.
“This is the most energy-centric group we’ve had in any program,” says Karin Ruiz, CEO of Sting. “You can feel the urgency in the market right now. These teams are not just innovating, they’re building the backbone of the future energy system. That level of focus and technical depth is rare, and incredibly exciting to support.”
This year’s cohort represents innovations spanning high-temperature thermal batteries, renewable industrial heat, AI-driven power plant optimisation, carbon-based materials, circular chemistry, and electrified mobility. Startups are selected based on impact potential, technical edge, team quality, market potential, scalability, and readiness to collaborate with industry.
“Sweden needs more early-stage climate solutions reaching investors and customers faster,” says Mia de Bésche, Head of Investor Relations & Financing at Sting. “Sting Climate Race gives investors a concentrated view of serious, high-impact teams. These are founders who are solving real energy challenges, and investors are actively looking for exactly that.”
This marks the second time Sting Climate Race is being run, and the program continues to show strong traction with both founders and investors. The eight-week sprint includes deep coaching from Sting’s expert team, access to Sting’s financing knowledge base and investor readiness tool kit, investor matchmaking, and direct pathways to capital.
